My First Edits

I recently tried my first few edits using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to practice for my later pictures. For these edits, I learned how to change some simple things like the contrast and brightness. Unfortunately I do not have a premium subscription so I am quite limited to the amount of tools I can use. I am mostly restricted to things like colour, light, and detail. I had wanted to be able to blur backgrounds and things like that, but seeing as I don’t have a premium subscription, I won’t be able to do that. For this reason, I may be focusing more on the actual photography instead of the editing. For these two edits, I took two unedited images from the internet to practice on.

The Project

Over the next few months, I will be taking part in a transformation project, by trying to develop a new skill. I will be trying to get better at photography, by taking nature photos of animals, plants, or any other scenes that capture my attention. I will be trying to edit the photos and make them look sharper and more vivid than the originals. I don’t have a lot of experience with photography, but I have taken pictures with a small digital camera on family trips. I also don’t have much experience editing outside of a desktop publishing class in school, but that is something I was more focused doing for fun, rather than getting extremely good at. I am more interested in the actual photography anyways, and with the help of a mentor, I hope to develop a knack for it. Photography is something I have always been interested in, and since I enjoy nature, it is a project that I am looking forward to.

Stay tuned for the photos to come.
